Rose Buddy
The Delta Zeta flower is the pink Killarney rose, hence the name "Rose buddy". Each week of your new member period, new Delta Zetas are paired up with an older sister, to spend time with and get to know. This gives new members the chance to get to know other sisters. A rose buddy is one particular sister who welcomes a new member into the sisterhood of Delta Zeta. She is a sister you can go to with questions and of course she spoils you with all sorts of fun DZ stuff!

Turtle and Penguin Pals
The DZ national mascot is the turtle, and here at North Georgia our local Delta Zeta mascot is the penguin. In their honor we assign ìTurtle Palsî and "Penguin Pals"! Turtle and penguin pals are similar to rose buddies but they come are spaced out through your new member period. This will provide yet another way to create a strong bond with an older sister.

Academic Mentor
Because Delta Zeta cares greatly about academics, each new member will receive an academic mentor that will aid in scholastic achievement. Your mentor will be an older sister with the same major as yourself. She will aid in studying, choosing the correct schedule, and all those late night studies around finals! This program ensures your personal academic success while you are a member of Delta Zeta.

Weekly meetings
All new members will have weekly meeting to learn about the sororityís history, sorority dates (i.e. socials, formal, etcÖ), meet older sisters, and simply hang out and get to know one another.

New Member Retreat
Sisters find this to be an amazing aspect of Delta Zetaís new member period. This retreat is just for you and your other new member peers to create a lasting sisterhood. Sisterhood is what Delta Zeta is all about, so this event is always full of lifelong memories and sisters.

Big Sister/Little Sister Week
In Delta Zeta we share a special tradition of family trees. Each new member will receive a Big Sister and will enter a particular family legacy. New members are showered with gifts from the day they receive a bid until Big Sister Revealing.

Initiation
On initiation night, each of the new members participates in the special ceremony that binds us together as Delta Zeta sisters. On this unforgettable night, you are welcomed into Delta Zeta no longer as a new member, but as a lifelong sister.
